Executive Director & Co-Founder
Jennifer Barker is the Executive Director and Co-founder of Per Diems Against Poverty. Prior to co-founding Per Diems Against Poverty, Jennifer acquired experience in the nonprofit business sector as the Marketing/Public Relations Coordinator and Registrar Administrator for Union Christian Academy—a private Christian institution in Fort Smith, AR. Before joining Union Christian, Jennifer worked for ArcBest Corporation (formerly Arkansas Best Corporation).
Born and raised in a small town in eastern Oklahoma, Jennifer is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Oklahoma State University with a BA in English. She studied leadership and ethics through John Brown University’s MS in Business Leadership & Ethics program.
A mission trip to Juarez, Mexico, following her sophomore year of college opened Jennifer’s eyes to the tragic conditions those living in poverty endure every day. She has always felt a call to serve her community and make a difference in the lives of others. When asked to co-found Per Diems Against Poverty, Jennifer recognized this mission as the opportunity she’s been searching for.
